How can Man deal with an Evil World?

I have been going over my thoughts regarding what is going on in the world today, and especially about the evil, and Satan-like President of the United States of America, and wondering about what mystical force seems to be retaining this vile person in office?

And my MIND wants to confuse me [in my concern about the life of Man on earth today?], between  apparently opposing verses in the Bible:  One is Romans 12:19:

Beloved, never revenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the lord.”

Then we have: Proverbs 25:26:

Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.

In these two, one can reason that in Romans, we have a completed action that is in question.  On the other hand in Proverbs, we have the lack of an action, which would require the “righteous man” to resist the wicked.  And this is easily rationalized by ones MIND, because one is revenge for an evil act [post event],  and the other is attempting to resist an evil act [pre event].

Then we have these three:

Matthew 5:39 ESV

But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Romans 12:19 ESV

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

Luke 22:36 ESV

He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.

For what is a sword needed, if one is not to resist evil?  And, in Proverbs we are told that a righteous man should not give way to the wicked [evil].  As though to resist the wicked, one would use the “sword” one purchased by selling ones “cloak”.

What is a person to do?  Or, another interesting question might be… Is what a person does depend upon that person’s level of Enlightenment?  And this introduces the concept that we Souls are relatively unique and individual in where, on the Ladder of Life, our Souls are perched?  And that one’s choice depends upon how open one is to two things?

  1.  The fact that this Earth plane is an illusion where we Souls play the game of Life.  And each of us performs a role determined by one’s level of Spiritual Enlightenment?  Which subtly means that we act and re-act in accordance with how we view this Earth plane, based on what we know of the difference between the illusion of life and the Reality of life?
  2. As one becomes more Enlightened, a number of things occur… and these are rarely discussed in a public way.  One thing is that one comes to realize that the ONLY part of Man that is Real, in an Absolute sense.. is the Soul, and that the Soul is immortal, unless it is deemed unfit, in which case it is dissolved.

This dissolving of unfit Souls is part [I believe] of the final “judgement” to take part at the time of Armageddon.

Revelation 21:8 ESV

“But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

This still does not answer the question, in a way, but the answer I believe is quite mystical.  If one believes in the Law of Karma, as I do, then the fact is… nothing occurs to one in this life that is not “due” one, so if one holds to ones faith, and one holds to one’s love of God, then life occurs around one.

II Timothy 3:1-3  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, disposers of those who are good.

II Timothy 3:12  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

It seems to me that the best answer for all good people is to do that which seems right, and to leave the judgement to God. Since, in all honesty, what else can Man do?

Peace,  Brother James
